You are warmly invited to a discussion on research, (art) practice and activism on Saturday 20 May, 1.30-2.15 at Lewisham Arthouse (140 Lewisham Way, London SE14 6PD).
I will give a short introduction on the use of research, practice and activism for social change, including the role of (feminist) art in collaborations between researchers, practitioners and activists. Attention will be paid to art’s conceptual/theoretical, socio-political and economic structures that are known to perpetuate social inequality. What research, artistic & activist strategies can create intersectional inclusivity? Participants will be able to further explore this theme in group discussions.
This discussion is part of ‘What Happened Between?’ (15-21 May), an event hosted by Sophie Chapman and Kerri Jefferis. Details of this event can be found (and will be updated) on the website of Lewisham Arthouse (www.lewishamarthouse.org.uk) and this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1968555220034240/.
Sophie and Kerri invite you to bring examples of your own work and share them in the gallery space.
It would be lovely to see you there!
